The fastest audio analyzer on a single ESP32

Posted on October 31, 2024October 31, 2024 by Mark Donners

This is a real achievement. It is the fastest Audio Analyzer on a single ESP32. One ESP32 driving 3584 LEDS at 120 frames per second. This is a super fast audio analyzer. Stream audio over a Bluetooth connection from your phone or other devices.

This is an open source project, all schematics, software and building instructions are available for you. Use it, change is, heck even sell it. It’s ok but if you do one or more of the above, please give me credit by linking back to my channel.…

Twin Display Spectrum Analyzer with PixelMatrix

Posted on December 7, 2023October 31, 2024 by Mark Donners

This Spectrum Audio Analyzer project is nothing other than amazing. It includes a Teensy microcontroller board that drives 2 displays simultaneously at a very high speed. It is capable of doing a frequency analysis of the Audio in realtime to create a Stereo spectrum analyzer of 69 Channels and drive768 leds at the same time.

Yep you understood me correctly! 69 channels in stereo…so that’s actually 138 frequency bins. On top of that, we will be displaying a stereo VU meter on the second display.…

Lego Brick Audio Analyzer

Posted on April 23, 2023 by Mark Donners

This Analyzer is based on my Analog analyzer but this time, I put it in a housing made of lego bricks.
The audio analysis is done with opamp band filters, the old fashion way….The front end is done by using a ESP32 to create patterns to be displayed with pixel leds.
This is a demo only. If you want to build your one, please visit the element 14 community for all details here:

Nixie Spectrum Analyzer

Posted on August 19, 2022 by Mark Donners

This Nixie based looking clock is absolutely amazing. What you see are not real Nixie tubes but tubes of my own creation. It uses pixelleds that where fitted into a glass laboratory tube. The electronics is using a pure analog design to isolate all the different frequency bands. No need for hard to find IC’s and no FFT. The ESP32 is used to process the analog data into visible bars. ( Pixelleds)
This video is sponsored by @PCBWay They make great PCB board and offer good assembly service.…

Amazing Twin Audio Visualizer to the rescue

Posted on June 17, 2022 by Mark Donners

This Twin Audio Visualizer is nothing other than amazing. It includes a Teensy microcontroller board that drives 2 displays simultaneously at a very high speed. Combined with a Teensy Audio Board, it is capable of doing a frequency analysis of the Audio in realtime to create a Stereo spectrum analyzer of 69 Channels.

Up next open source twin audio visualizer 69 channels in stereo!

Posted on June 9, 2022 by Mark Donners

Got my pcb proto ready. This is a Audio Visualizer that will be available as open source. It has two display. The first display will show a stereo VU meter, the old fashion way: imitating a needle.. while the other display has several features one of those is a stereo 69 channel spectrum analyzer…and it’s really fast! so that’s 140 channels in total! ( L+R VU, L69 +R69)
The pcb will include hardware to implement line in, line out, mic in…input for potmeters and switches and two outputs for pixelled matrix or ledstrips………..So…

100 Spectrum analyzers anniversary video you must see

Posted on May 1, 2022 by Mark Donners

The last two years, I have been designing and building Audio Spectrum Analyzers and I sold more than 100 PCB’s. This means that more than 100 units where build successfully. I asked people to send in a video of their analyzer while playing a specific song. This video shows a compilation of some magnificent builds. It contains several versions from my oldest, the 14 channel MSGEQ7 analyzer to my newest, the 10 channel analog analyzer and everything in between.…
